Oregon Ducks TE Kenyon Sadiq to declare for 2026 NFL draft

1 hour ago 1

It has long been expected that Oregon Ducks tight end Kenyon Sadiq would forego his final year of eligibility and declare for the 2026 NFL draft, and the junior has made it official.

According to ESPN's Pete Thamel, Sadiq will be ending his college career a year early with the Ducks and entering the draft, where he is expected to be a first-round pick, and likely the No. 1 tight end off of the board. There are a number of mock drafts that even have him as a top-10 pick in April.

While it has been assumed for much of the year that Sadiq would be gone after this season, there was a moment of hesitation after the Peach Bowl loss to Indiana. When asked about his future, the TE said he was still undecided and hinted at a potential return, citing "unfinished business." However, it appears to have been more of a spur-of-the-moment, emotional remark than anything else.

As the TE1 for Oregon in 2026, Sadiq hauled in 51 passes for 560 yards and eight touchdowns. He finished his Oregon career with 80 catches for 892 yards and 11 touchdowns.

Without Sadiq on the roster for the 2026 season, Oregon is still expected to be set at the TE position. There is an expectation that junior TE Jamari Johnson will return and be viewed as one of the nation's best TEs next season, while the Ducks also bring in 5-star TE Kendre Harrison in the freshman class.
