How much fun is being a Kentucky Football fan right now? The season doesn’t start for nearly eight months, and the excitement is already building.
The Wildcats continue to make additions in the transfer portal, and they have another quarterback in their room with Florida Atlantic transfer Carson Cruver.

The Austin (Texas) St. Michael’s Catholic Academy product spent three seasons at FAU playing for head coaches Tom Herman and Zach Kittley. Cruver appeared in two total games during his time in Boca Raton while attempting three career passes, so this is more of a depth addition than anything else.
Cruver will be a redshirt junior in 2026 with two years of eligibility remaining. He joins a quarterback room that includes Notre Dame’s Kenny Minchey and Marshall’s JacQai Long, as well as returnee Brennen Ward and incoming 4-star QB Matt Ponatoski.
On special teams, the Wildcats added Murray State punter Tom O’Hara.
O’Hara is the third specialist addition for Stein and the Wildcats, joining South Florida kicker Adam Zouagui and Georgia State long-snapper Spencer Radnoti.

O’Hara averaged 44.9 yards per punt in 2024, the third-best in the Missouri Valley. Last fall, he averaged 43.8 yards per punt.
Adding O’Hara keeps the Australian pipeline going at punter for the Wildcats. Special teams are important, and Australia and Kentucky both know that well.
