Oklahoma wide receiver KJ Daniels to transfer

2 hours ago 1

Oklahoma wide receiver KJ Daniels will enter the transfer portal, according to On3 Sports.

Daniels did not record a catch in his only season with the Sooners and will have three years of eligibility remaining. He arrived to Norman as a three-star recruit out of Louisiana. At just 5-foot-9 and 165 pounds coming out of high school in Franklinton, Daniels wasn't as highly recruited as his talent suggested.

Daniels is the second receiver to exit Oklahoma's program on New Year's Eve, joining Josiah Martin. The Sooners are set to return seven of their top nine receivers from the depth chart in 2025, assuming none of them also hit the portal when it opens Jan. 2.

Oklahoma just finished its best season since 2019-20 as it made the College Football Playoff for the first time since the expansion from four teams. That 19-20 season also so saw the Sooners crack the Playoff as the No. 4 seed, eliminated by eventual national champion LSU.

Isaiah Sategna led OU in receiving during his first season with the Sooners after transferring from Arkansas. He finished with 67 catches for 965 yards and eight touchdowns, all team highs.
