Ohio State football loses offensive lineman to transfer portal

1 week ago 2

We've seen more transfer portal defections this offseason than we've grown accustomed to for the Ohio State football program. It's the sign of the times, and it'll only get worse as players are enticed with playing time and money in the growing age of Name, Image and Likeness.

Almost every position group has been impacted, and one of those is along the offensive line with the news that Devontae Amrstrong will be entering the transfer portal. Out of Lakewood St. Edwards in Ohio, Armstrong is a former three-star prospect according to the 247Sports rankings, who committed with his twin brother Deontae out of the 2024 class. To date, Devontae never got on the field for the Buckeyes in his two seasons and will still have two seasons remaining.

With many of the same pieces coming back on the offensive line, it would seem that Devontae sees the writing on the wall and is looking to go somewhere that will get him on the field as soon as next season, as the clock is ticking on his college career.

We'll continue to stay on top of the comings and goings of the transfer portal news as news and reports become available.
