NFL insider doesn't expect 49ers' Pro Bowler to play vs. Seahawks

The San Francisco 49ers are set for their season finale on Saturday, as they'll host the Seattle Seahawks at Levi's Stadium for a game with huge implications for playoff seeding.

San Francisco listed five players as questionable for the matchup on their final injury report of the week on Thursday, including offensive tackle Trent Williams, who suffered a hamstring injury against the Chicago Bears last week.

On Friday's episode of NFL Network's "Good Morning Football," NFL insider Ian Rapoport shared his thoughts on Williams' status for Saturday's game.

"Trent Williams, their Pro Bowl left tackle, one of the best left tackles of not just this year but really the last decade, he is officially listed as questionable, but he hasn't practiced at all this week dealing with a hamstring injury" Rapoport said. "It's hard to imagine he's out there with no practice on a short week. Crazier things have happened, but to me, I'm not expecting the big man to be out there."

Williams has started all 16 games for the 49ers this year and had been playing the best he had all season when he suffered the injury last Sunday night.

Now, the 49ers will roll with Austen Pleasants, a former undrafted free agent out of Ohio, who had played just 89 offensive snaps since entering the NFL in 2020 before playing 71 against the Bears last week.

This will be a much bigger test for him, as the Seahawks pass-rush is much more ferocious than Chicago's.
