The New York Jets will play their regular-season finale versus the Buffalo Bills in Week 18. Head coach Aaron Glenn named rookie quarterback Brady Cook as the starter for Sunday. The Jets will enter the weekend slated to own the No. 3 overall selection in the 2026 NFL draft.
Tanner Engstrand's offense will undergo major changes this offseason. Until then, we've identified three potential X-factors for the offense in Week 18.

Brady Cook, QB
Cook has arguably been the worst starting quarterback in the league this season. Nonetheless, the Jets want one final opportunity to evaluate the rookie undrafted free agent. Cook will find life difficult against a Sean McDermott-coached defense on Sunday.
Breece Hall, RB
Stud running back Breece Hall was upgraded to a limited participant in Thursday's practice after initially missing Wednesday's session. With Isaiah Davis likely to miss Sunday's finale with a concussion, the Jets need Hall healthy and available. He's already surpassed 1,000 rushing yards this year, and should play in Week 18 with his rookie contract slated to expire.

Adonai Mitchell, WR
Adonai Mitchell has looked like a potential WR2 for the Jets offense moving into 2026. It was a shrewd move by GM Darren Mougey to ensure the Indianapolis Colts included Mitchell in the Sauce Gardner trade. His upside has been somewhat limited since Cook took over at quarterback, but his future outlook is promising.
