The Brooklyn Nets are coming off a disappointing 104-103 overtime loss to the Orlando Magic despite the fact that rookie Egor Demin came up clutch in the fourth quarter and overtime. Brooklyn won't get any breaks as they have an upcoming matchup against the visiting Los Angeles Clippers on Friday, but they will be doing with a relatively-clean injury report.
The Nets announced on Thursday that forward Michael Porter Jr. is probable for Friday's game against the Clippers due to right knee soreness. While Porter has been mostly-available this season for Brooklyn, he's played in 28 of the Nets' 34 games this year, his name being on the injury report could give some fans cause to pause, especially considering that the organization has shown the willingness to rest him when he's dealing with something.

Porter played 38 minutes in Wednesday's 104-103 overtime loss to the Magic, a game in which he dropped 34 points, five rebounds, and three steals while looking like his usual self throughout the contest. However, there is the possibility that Porter could be dealing with the repercussions from playing more minutes than he normally does in 48-minute games.
However, Porter is listed as probable so monitoring his status going into Friday's tipoff will be key to see if he is more likely to play or sit against James Harden, Kawhi Leonard, and the Clippers. Moving on with Brooklyn's injury report, rookie guard Ban Saraf, veteran forward Haywood Highsmith, and Two-Way forward EJ Liddell have been ruled out against Los Angeles due to their respective injuries.
Saraf is dealing with left knee soreness, Liddell is experiencing right knee soreness, and Highsmith is still recovering from offseason surgery on his right knee. Granted, Saraf and Liddell have been assigned to the G League over the past few weeks and head coach Jordi Fernandez didn't have an update on Highsmith other than to say that he's doing great and the team is "happy with the steps he's taking" at the moment.
