MSU women's basketball jumps into Top-20 in latest Coaches Poll

1 week ago 2

It's been a great week for the Michigan State women's basketball. First, they took down Ole Miss to win the Cherokee Invitational Championship. Then, they resumed Big Ten play with a big win over Rutgers. The recent success for the 12-1 Spartans has them on the move in the polls, moving up to No. 19 overall in the Coaches Poll. MSU was at No. 21 in last week's poll.

One thing that might annoy Spartan fans, rightfully, is that Ole Miss is still ranked two spots ahead of Michigan State at No. 17 despite the loss to MSU and a worse record. However, Michigan State will have plenty of chances to move up the rankings this season as they contend with a stacked Big Ten Conference.

UCLA, Maryland, and Michigan are all in the top ten, and Iowa is close behind at No. 14. USC is at 16, Ohio State is at 20, and Nebraska is at No. 25 to round out the conference.
