MSU football transfer edge rusher commits to Big 12 school

A young and promising Michigan State edge rusher has transferred to a Big 12 school.

Michigan State transfer edge rusher David Santiago has committed to Kansas. He announced his commitment to the Jayhawks via a social media post on Tuesday night.

Santiago came to Michigan State a year ago, transferring to MSU from Air Force. In his one season in East Lansing, he recorded 24 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks. He was expected to be a part of the Spartans edge rushing position in 2026, but will now be finding a new home.

Santiago will have two years of eligibility remaining at the collegiate level. He also received reported interest from Virginia and NC State.
