Michigan State basketball is the most-viewed team in the country through the first chunk of the season.
Nielsen has released a list of the 10 most watched men's college basketball teams through the first portion of the season (games up to December 22), and Michigan State was at the top of the list. The Spartans were listed as the No. 1 watched team in the country in Nielsen's ratings report.

Michigan State was followed by Arkansas (No. 2), Duke (No. 3), North Carolina (No. 4) and Kentucky (No. 5) to round out the top five. As you may know, Michigan State has played each of those teams this year, with a 3-1 record in those four matchups.
Indiana (No. 8) and Purdue (No. 10) were the only other teams from the Big Ten to crack the top 10 in the Nielsen ratings.
Michigan State is off to a strong start this season, with an overall record of 12-1 and 2-0 mark in Big Ten play. The Spartans are ranked No. 9 nationally in both the Associated Press (AP) and USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll.
