The Dallas Cowboys very much missed now Jacksonville Jaguars cornerback Jourdan Lewis this past season.
And don't take my word for it. Here is what the Cowboys' Jerry Jones had to say:
“We lost the nickel, and it hurt us more than we thought," Jones said. "The nickel was a serious loss for us. It made a big difference not having [Lewis] out there. And, so, we have got to get better there.

“…The number one thing was we thought —when we lost our nickel last year — we could Bland in and out, and get him going back and forth. He wasn't quite as suited to getting inside and being a nickel as we thought he would be. “So that was a little planning that didn't work out on the plan.”
“So that was a little planning that didn't work out on the plan.”
Unfortunately, the Jaguars will be without Lewis for the postseason after he was placed on injured reserve following the Denver game with a foot injury.
However, very quickly upon Lewis' arrival in Jacksonville, he made an impact both on and off the field, emerging as one of the team leaders.

This season, Lewis has held opponents to just 7.6 yards per catch while recording two interceptions and four pass breakups.
Beyond his production at cornerback and the high-level communicator he is pre-snap to get the secondary aligned, Lewis quickly emerged as one of the leaders of this team.
The Jaguars signed Lewis this past offseason to a three-year, $30 million deal.
