The Somerset Christian Lady Cougars were back in action on Tuesday for the first time in over two weeks as they welcomed the Lynn Camp Lady Wildcats into the Cougar Den.
In a game that saw the Cougars trail for most of the first three quarters, Somerset Christian made a spirited comeback attempt that saw them tie the game up late. A free throw by the Wildcats would doom that comeback attempt however, as Somerset Christian fell by a score of 49-48.

Lynn Camp held the lead for the early part of the first quarter until a pair of baskets from Addison Durham and Kinley Mink to make it 9-8. The teams would trade baskets for the remainder of the period, with a basket from Marlee Durham trimming the Wildcat lead down to one before a late shot from senior Lauren Partin gave Lynn Camp a 21-18 lead after the first.
A big run by the Lady Wildcats in the second quarter, a 9-0 run to be exact, pushed their lead to 33-22 and forced a timeout by the Cougars as they were struggling to find decent looks on offense. Addison Durham made a shot late in the period, but after back-to-back baskets by Lynn Camp to end the first half, the visitors would head into the locker room with a 13-point lead at 37-24.
After a three from Addison Durham and an offensive put-back by Marlee Durham, suddenly that lead was cut down to just 37-29 to open the third quarter of play. Neither team could managed much in terms of offense in the period, with Somerset Christian holding the Wildcats to just four total points. The home team would trail by seven points heading into the final quarter at 41-34.
Lynn Camp may have scored the opening basket in the fourth, but it was a quick response by the Cougars that flipped the game on its head. Mink would drill a three, Addison Durham had five straight points and Sophia Guerrero had an offensive put-back that led the Cougars on a 10-0 run that gave them their first lead since the first quarter at 44-43.

A three from senior Julie Moore would give Lynn Camp the lead right back. It looked like the Wildcats were going to pull away late, but after a steal and two from Marlee Durham, plus a layup from Addison Durham, the Cougars had tied things up at 48-48 with just 13.7 seconds left. Lynn Camp was fouled on their last second shot attempt, with Partin hitting one of two from the line to give themselves a one-point edge. A last-second heave by the Cougars was off the mark, as Lynn Camp prevailed in a one-point thriller 49-48.
Addison Durham led the way with a game-high 29 points in the loss. Other scorers included Marlee Durham with eight, Mink with seven and both Guerrero and McKinley Lewis with two apiece. Lynn Camp was led by Partin with 21 points and 17 rebounds for a double-double.
Somerset Christian falls to 3-4 and will next travel to Cordia to take on the Lady Lions on Saturday.
