The Jonathan Gannon era came to an end Monday as the Arizona Cardinals fired their head coach of three seasons. It wasn't the most illustrious run, as Gannon went 15-36 -- including a miserable 3-14 this year -- but Kyler Murray looks back upon it fondly.
Murray, who's probably on the outs too after being benched for Jacoby Brissett midway through 2025, shared a sweet farewell message for Gannon on social media.

"My guy, genuinely loved going to war with you," Murray wrote. "Appreciate who you are as a man and a coach. Warpath."
For someone whose gaming habits have been questioned by fans, Warpath was a peculiar term for Murray to use.
It wasn't all bad for Gannon and Murray in the desert. They showed genuine promise in 2024, improving from 4-13 to 8-9, with Murray excelling in his first full season back from a torn ACL. Murray passed for 3,851 yards and 21 touchdowns to just 11 interceptions, adding 572 yards and five touchdowns on the ground.
But 2025 came and so did a major regression, making change inevitable in Arizona. We'll see just how drastic those changes are as the offseason comes along.
