Kliff Kingsbury expected to interview with at least two teams

The Washington Commanders decided to part ways with both offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury and defensive coordinator Joe Whitt Jr. on Tuesday.

The Whitt news wasn't all that surprising, considering head coach Dan Quinn had taken playcalling duties away from Whitt earlier this season. However, the Kingsbury news caught many off guard, including star quarterback Jayden Daniels.

The good news for Kingsbury, though, is that he likely won't remain unemployed for long. NFL insider Jordan Schultz is reporting that Kingsbury is expected to interview for the New York Giants and Tennessee Titans head coaching vacancies.

The Titans, Giants, Arizona Cardinals, Cleveland Browns, Atlanta Falcons, and Las Vegas Raiders all have head coach openings at the moment. We know Kingsbury is interviewing with two teams, and given the Cardinals previously fired him, it seems unlikely he'd be a candidate there.

It makes sense why the Titans and Giants would be interested in Kingsbury. Both teams have exciting young quarterbacks to build around, and an offensive guru like Kingsbury could work wonders. After all, Kyler Murray and Jayden Daniels both played their best ball under Kingsbury.

It would certainly be interesting to see Kingsbury coach the division rival Giants. The coach would have to face off against his former boss and former star quarterback twice a season, while trying to turn the Giants into a contender.

Despite the struggles of the Washington offense in 2025, Kingsbury is clearly still well-respected in NFL circles. The context of Washington's poor performance is that the team was decimated by injuries. It's hard for any coach to put up points or win games when you're down to your third-string quarterback.
