Kaizer Chiefs loanee on target in Botswana

Kaizer Chiefs loanee Xolani Cossa found the back of the net as his side, Black Lions, secured a 2-1 win over Santa Green in the FNB Botswana Premiership.

The 21-year-old defender opened the scoring with a stunning freekick for his second goal of the season, having netted on his debut for the club.

Cossa joined the Botswana side on a season-long loan from the Soweto giants in a bid to gain topflight experience and game time.

He lifted the Dstv Diski Challenge (DDC) title with Chiefs last season - the club's first-ever reserve league championship.

Notably, Cossa was voted Players' Player of the Season for Chiefs' reserve team in the 2023/24 campaign.

Meanwhile, Black Lions moved up to 10th with 13 points from 14 league outings, and return to action with a clash against Nico United on Saturday, 24 January.
