K.C. Chiefs’ 2025 season had more ‘Stranger Things’ than past years

The Kansas City Chiefs’ 2025 season has various reasons for their disappointing performance. A point of concern was the turnovers and uncharacteristic errors from star players that severely set the team back in close games.

“I think putting people in the right position and making sure we stay relatively healthy there I think is important.” said Reid during his recent press conference summing up the strange season, “Then don’t take things away from yourself whether it’s a play call that you give a guy – can you put him in a better position or second, are you taking something away from yourself, whether it’s a turnover or a penalty. It’s all of us looking at that, but you’re still looking at anoffense that was one of the top 10 offenses in the league if you take everything into consideration there. You’re not that far off, you have to get a couple things bouncing your way and make sure you take care of that.”

The Chiefs tallied 119 penalties, averaging 7 per game, with the most flags for Offensive Holding and False Starts. The upside-down season is hoped to be an outlier in what has been an impressive run of success for the franchise.

The hit Netflix show ‘Stranger Things’ came to an unforgettable conclusion with its recent finale on New Year’s Eve. The NFL recently released apparel for its partnership with the show during its Christmas Gameday doubleheader. The Chiefs defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers in the first-ever Netflix NFL broadcast that featured the viral ‘Stranger Things’ joke from announcer Ian Eagle.

WWE brought a part of Hawkins to Brooklyn this past Monday, January 5th, at Barclays Center for a Stranger Things–themed episode of Raw. There was even a Stranger Things-themed Championship Belt on display from Netflix’s Elle Duncan.
