The Jones Cup, one of the top amateur events of the year at Ocean Forest Golf Club in Sea Island, Georgia, gets underway Friday. Tee times were announced Wednesday, and there's a historic pairing among many notable ones.
Three USGA champions from 2025, Mason Howell (U.S. Amateur), Hamilton Coleman (U.S. Junior Amateur) and Brandon Holtz (U.S. Mid-Amateur) will play together in the first round. It's believed to be the first time the current champion of those three events have competed together in the same threesome in any golf event. The three champs will tee off at 9:30 a.m. ET.

The runners-up of the past two U.S. Amateurs, Noah Kent in 2024 and Jackson Herrington in 2025, are paired together off the 10th tee at 9:20 a.m. ET.
It's far from the only notable threesome on Friday, too. There's also the group of pro's kids in John Daly II (John Daly), Luke Poulter (Ian Poulter) and Jackson Byrd (Jonathan Byrd). That threesome begins at 9:50 a.m. ET Friday off the first

Another group is LSU sophomore Arni Sveinsson, Texas senior Tommy Morrison and Florida State junior Tyler Weaver. The three players are the highest-ranked in the World Amateur Golf Ranking in the field. Sveinsson (No. 8), Morrison (No. 9) and Weaver (No. 12) go off at 10:50 a.m. ET on No. 1.

Both past champions, John Peterson (2011) and Jacob Modleski (2024) are also playing together at 9:40 a.m. ET off the first tee.
