LOS ANGELES — Ty Simpson has a decision to make.

As he leads Alabama football into the College Football Playoff quarterfinal at the 2026 Rose Bowl, Simpson's future with the Crimson Tide still hangs in the balance. Simpson does have one season left of collegiate eligibility. But he's also been widely viewed as a potential NFL first-round draft pick.

Is that something Simpson is considering ahead of Alabama's Rose Bowl against Indiana?

"I haven’t really thought about it much to be honest with you just because we have a big game coming up," Simpson said.

Through 14 games, Simpson leads the SEC with 293 completions, 457 pass attempts, 3,500 passing yards and 28 passing touchdowns.

Redshirt sophomore Austin Mack and freshman Keelon Russell have served as Simpson's backups for 2025.

Alabama plays Indiana in the College Football Playoff quarterfinal at the 2026 Rose Bowl at 3:10 p.m. CT Thursday, Jan. 1.
