Is Drake London playing in Week 18 game to decide NFC South champ?

1 week ago 2

As Drake London continues to battle through the knee injury that robbed him of four games and still has him listed as questionable on the Atlanta Falcons injury report, his status for Sunday's game against the New Orleans Saints will be of extra interest to a couple NFC South rivals who aren't even playing.

That's because after the Tampa Bay Buccaneers beat the Carolina Panthers on Saturday, one of those teams will be named NFC South champion depending on what happens between the Falcons and Saints. That's right, the Falcons and Saints are playing to decide whether the Bucs or Panthers will win the division -- and Carolina's playoff hopes are riding on an Atlanta win.

Thankfully for Panthers fans, Falcons coach Raheem Morris expressed optimism about London's availability earlier in the week.

According to Falcons.com, Morris was also optimistic about Kyle Pitts and Darnell Mooney playing. This report was from Friday, so things certainly could have changed in the days since, but for now, we can expect to see all three suit up for an Atlanta team that's favored by 3.5 points at home.
