AMES — Hilton Coliseum will be more charged up on Friday night.
No. 3-ranked Iowa State basketball will host West Virginia for its Big 12 Conference opener on Jan. 2. Tip-off is scheduled for 8 p.m. CT. The game will be available on ESPN2.

The Cyclones (13-0) bulldozed their way through non-conference play and recorded double-digit wins of 16 or more points in 11 of their 13 victories.
West Virginia (9-4) has a new head coach, Ross Hodge, and a completely different roster, with no holdovers from Darian DeVries' one-year stay with the Mountaineers.
West Virginia is coming off of an 86-51 win over Mississippi Valley State on Dec. 22.
