As Iowa football loses the bulk of its defensive line production from last season, the Hawkeyes secured a significant commitment to replenish its defensive line depth on Thursday night.
Former Northern Illinois defensive lineman Lance Ingold announced his commitment to Iowa football on Thursday night. A 6-foot-5, 255-pound defensive lineman, Ingold joins the black and gold with three seasons of eligibility remaining.

Ingold appeared in six games for Northern Illinois in 2025, posting 17 tackles, two tackles for loss, two quarterback hurries, 1.5 sacks, and one forced fumble. The Rochester, Ill., native notched a career-high seven tackles against Mississippi State in November.
Per Pro Football Focus, Ingold generated 11 pressures in 2025.
Ingold becomes the third defensive lineman to commit to Iowa this transfer portal cycle, joining Holy Cross transfer Brice Stevenson and Elon transfer Kahmari Brown.
Along its defensive line, Iowa is replacing Aaron Graves, Ethan Hurkett, Max Llewellyn and Jonah Pace. Brian Allen also entered the transfer portal.
