Iowa football hosts transfer portal kicker target Eli Ozick

4 days ago 2

On the second day of what has already been a busy NCAA transfer portal window throughout the nation, North Dakota State kicker and Iowa football portal target Eli Ozick was spotted in attendance at the Hawkeyes' basketball game against UCLA at Carver-Hawkeye Arena on Saturday, Jan. 3.

The 5-foot-11, 191-pound FCS All-American from Liberty, Mo., hit 19-of-23 field goals over his three seasons with a career long of 54 yards and was a part of the Bisons' 2024 FCS National Championship team.

This past season, Ozick made 16-of-18 field goals for the No. 1-seeded Bison, who suffered a historic second-round upset to Illinois State in the FCS Playoffs.

While Iowa is the first program Ozick has visited during his transfer portal journey, there will likely be others that join the Hawkeyes in pursuit of the talented placekicker. Wherever Ozick chooses to sign with out of the portal, he will have two years of eligibility remaining.

While Iowa could certainly entertain other kickers throughout the open transfer portal window, landing Ozick would be an excellent addition, especially considering that the Hawkeyes will need to replace outgoing starting kicker Drew Stevens next season.
