'Sore point' as Arsenal draw with Liverpool

Arsenal missed a chance to move eight points clear at the top of the Premier League on Thursday as they were held to a frustrating goalless draw by Liverpool.

The result means the Gunners remain comfortably top, six points clear of closest rivals Manchester City and Aston Villa, but Friday's back pages focus on a missed opportunity to widen their advantage.

Following another conservative display by Mikel Arteta's men, ex-Premier League winger Andros Townsend told BBC Radio 5 Live's Football Daily podcast: "Arsenal have everything now, the only question mark is whether they can get over the line?

"Do they still have the mental scars from two or three years ago?

"They still lost the title after winning 16 of their final 18 games so that will be playing on their mind.

"They know they have to be perfect to beat this Manchester City side that Pep Guardiola has created.

"I still have a question mark over them as City chase them."
