A stud at the University of Dayton, Holmes improved by the season with the Flyers. In his underclassmen years, he was primarily a two-way paint presence with excellent efficiency and a nose for the basketball. As a junior, he extended his range to the three-point line, knocking down 38.6% of his tries and still keeping his dominance on the block. There’s a reason he was a consensus All-American and Atlantic 10 Player of the Year. “These guys have had a lot of success at different levels doing that, where there's coaching staffs who have relied on these people to win games,” Adelman said. “I actually think the hardest part of that is when you get people back, and now what you've ingrained in someone, what their role is on a really good team -- a winning team, a team that has a chance to do some really special things -- now it's, 'Hey, get back to what you were doing before.' And not, 'Get back in your lane,' but it is that way a little bit. But I'm actually excited for it. I want to see some of these guys have the opportunity to make plays, do some things.”
