Denver Nuggets superstar big man Nikola Jokić was injured on Monday night during a contest against the Miami Heat, and it did not look pretty.
When the three-time NBA MVP went down holding his knee, many fans were concerned he had potentially torn his ACL. It looked like he was seriously injured, and while nothing about it looked painless, there is at least partially good news for the basketball world.

According to ESPN's Shams Cahrania, Jokić did not tear his ACL and instead hyperextension his left knee. He is expected to miss "at least four weeks" of action, and while that is not nothing, it is much better than what many feared.
The Nuggets will revaluate Jokić in four weeks, and while this is the most serious injury of his NBA career considering he has not missed more than five games in a row since 2017, it is far better than a season-ending injury.
This does mean, however, that Jokić will probably become ineligible to win MVP or earn All-NBA consideration and both were looking incredibly likely before the incident on Monday night.
