GREEN BAY − The Green Bay Packers activated linebacker Nick Niemann off injured reserve Jan. 7.
Niemann, who ranks fourth on the team with 11 special-teams tackles, missed the past 10 games with a pectoral injury. He returned to practice Dec. 31.

In corresponding roster moves, the Packers placed Bo Melton and practice squad receiver Will Sheppard on injured reserve and signed defensive lineman Anthony Campbell to the practice squad.
Melton, who’s contributed to the Packers as receiver, cornerback and special-teamer, injured his knee making a tackle on the punt team in the Packers’ regular-season finale with the Minnesota Vikings. Packers coach Matt LaFleur said Melton didn’t suffer a torn ACL, but the injury was significant enough to place him on injured reserve.
“That’s a big loss for us,” LaFleur said in his pre-practice news conference Jan. 7. “[He’s] just a Swiss Army knife. There’s nothing he can’t do. I wouldn’t put it past him. I just love the energy he brings to our football team, a great competitor.”
Campbell (6-foot-6, 307 pounds) signed with the Seattle Seahawks as an undrafted free agent in 2025. He was released after training camp and then spent the start of the season on their practice squad. He will wear No. 60 for the Packers.
