Georgia women's basketball (15-2, 1-2 SEC) is off to its best start since 2009-10, even still after losing 80-59 to a ranked LSU (15-2, 1-2) and Kim Mulkey on home turf.
But with another tough team on the horizon, as the Lady Bulldogs head to face South Carolina and Dawn Staley Sunday afternoon, there's a few things they need to tweak.

The biggest one being knocking down shots.
"We can't let them go transition like this," Georgia coach Katie Abrahamson-Henderson said. "We got this team going transition and they scored 48 points in the paint. Half of the time it was transition, half of the time it was driving to the basket."
The good thing is, Abrahamson-Henderson said, is that Staley's squad does the same. They've been exposed to it by the Tigers, and now they can work on it with the Gamecocks.
Abrahamson-Henderson thinks Georgia is a good transition team, too; they just need the opportunity to showcase it. This is only their third game of the conference slate, sophomore guard Trinity Turner remarked.

Georgia's interior defense isn't the only thing that needs buffing out.
The other is level of contribution.
In addition to their 48 points in the paint, LSU had 44 points off the bench.
Georgia had 7.
Sophomore guard Dani Carnegie had 24 by herself. Turner added 11.
"That's exactly what we talked about in the locker room," Abrahamson-Henderson said. "Every night, they may guard Trinity, Dani and/or Mia (Woolfolk), so everybody else has got to come in and step up and create points."
Abrahamson-Henderson said, just so everyone's happy, they did go for 29 shots beyond the arc Thursday night. Sure, they only actually hit on four of those, but they never attempt that much. Once they get open looks, and start to actually knock them down, they're golden.

"We want to keep improving and getting better at the little things," Turner said.
