Georgia football All-SEC LB makes NFL draft decision

As expected, the Georgia Bulldogs are losing junior inside linebacker CJ Allen to the 2026 NFL draft. Allen is the latest great linebacker to play at the University of Georgia.

Allen announced his plans to enter the draft via Instagram. He thanked God, his family, his coaches, his teammates, and Georgia fans in his decision. "With faith and purpose, and as this chapter comes to a close, I am officially declaring for the 2026 NFL draft!" Allen said via social media.

Allen was a first-team All-SEC selection for his 2025 season at Georgia. Allen lived up to high expectations for his junior season and posted 88 tackles, 3 1/2 sacks, four pass deflections and two forced fumbles.

The 6-foot-1, 235-pound linebacker began starting as a true freshman in 2023. He improved significantly over the years and is expected to be an early draft pick. Allen is predicted to be the No. 31 pick in the first-round of the draft in a recent mock draft.

Allen's leadership, toughness and production will be missed in 2026. Georgia returns Chris Cole, Justin Williams, Zayden Walker and likely Raylen Wilson for the 2026 college football season at inside linebacker. Georgia should be just fine at linebacker since UGA has been elite at recruiting the position.
