Clarke originally announced his commitment on the final day of June. The highly regarded cornerback held 30 Division I offers per his recruiting profile on 247Sports, but ultimately chose the Wolverines over Kentucky, the other primary competitor after taking official visits to SMU, Syracuse, Kentucky, Miami and Ann Arbor.

Clarke, who stands 6 feet 1 and 175 pounds, is the No. 5 player in Virginia, the No. 21 cornerback in the nation and the No. 213 overall player in the class, according to 247Sports' composite rankings.
Michigan largely cleaned up in Virginia and the DMV (Washington metropolitan area) in its 2026 class, securing commits from three-star edge Tariq Boney, three-star linebacker Markel Dabney, four-star wide receiver Travis Johnson and five-star EDGE Carter Meadows, who is the top rated player in U-M's class as the No. 6 recruit in America.
