Former Longhorns OL Connor Stroh signs with Kansas

On Sunday afternoon, the Longhorns' offensive line took a hit as Connor Stroh found a new home after entering the transfer portal. The Texas native signed with the Kansas Jayhawks after spending his first two seasons in Austin. While he struggled to carve out consistent playing time, Stroh flashed his potential during the 2025 campaign.

Although Stroh was ranked as the 62nd-best offensive lineman and the 125th-best player from Texas in his recruiting class, he redshirted his freshman year. The Lakeland High Alum did not appear in a game and had to wait until the 2025 campaign to make his debut. However, his patience paid off as Stroh played in 10 games and made five starts.

When the 2025 season began, it seemed that big things were in store for Stroh. He won the starting job at left tackle to open the season. Unfortunately, Stroh was unable to hang onto the role, as after five starts, he lost his starting job. For the rest of the season, the former Longhorn was a reserve guard.

While Stroh's time in Texas did not end as planned, he has a chance to start over with the Jayhawks. He was a three-star recruit coming out of high school and showed enough last spring to earn a starting job. If he flashes his spring form, then Kansas may get a boost on the offensive line.

Over the last few days, the Longhorns roster has undergone alot of changes. Their losses to the portal include offensive lineman Nate Kibble, wide receiver Parker Livingstone, offensive lineman Neto Umeozulu, and cornerback Caleb Chester. They have also added Ian Geffrard and kicker Gianni Spetic. That list should continue to grow.

As Stroh shifts his focus to a new chapter, many in Austin will be watching how the Jayhawks maximize his talent.
