Auburn football lost its entire 2025 quarterback room to the transfer portal, and one of those members has officially found a new home.
Ashton Daniels, who played in four games during the 2026 season, making three starts, has committed to Florida State, according to Hayes Fawcett of Rivals. Daniels has one season of eligibility remaining and is expected to be a major piece of next season's quarterback competition that will include Kevin Sperry and Jaden O'Neal.

Daniels first saw action in Auburn's 33-20 win over Arkansas on Oct. 25 when he took over for Jackson Arnold. Daniels went on to start in three of Auburn's final four games, where he showed strong dual-threat ability by passing for 720 yards, rushing for 245 yards, and scoring five touchdowns despite the Tigers falling in all three contests. In Auburn's loss to Vanderbilt in November, Daniels passed for 353 yards and rushed for 89 yards while scoring four times.
Daniels is the first of Auburn's three quarterback transfer portal entries to find a new home. Jackson Arnold recently received a prediction to sign with UNLV, while Deuce Knight is considered to be one of the best available quarterbacks in the transfer portal. Auburn is working to rebuild its quarterback room and is off to a great start, as former USF quarterback Byrum Brown has announced his transfer to Auburn. USF freshman Locklan Hewitt and 2026 signee Rhys Brush join Brown in the Tigers' quarterback room for the 2026 season.
