Given that Ohio State football lost to Miami 24-14 in the quarterfinals of the College Football Playoff, some might be wondering what OSU coach Ryan Day is like after a postseason loss.

Two former Ohio State football defenders, linebacker Steele Chambers and defensive back Bryson Shaw, shared their insights in a video released online.

The two discussed the details of an intense meeting after the Buckeyes' playoff loss to Clemson in 2019. After the Buckeyes fell to Clemson 29-23 in the 2019 Fiesta Bowl to end their CFP run. Shaw and Chambers recalled the first team meeting after the loss, expecting the team's offseason plans and winter workout programs to be discussed.

"That was one of the hardest meetings I think I'll ever be in as a human being, like, on earth," Chambers said in a TikTok posted by Bryson Shaw Jan. 5.

Chambers said that a certain player was called out in the meeting by head coach Ryan Day and associate athletic director for football sports performance Mickey Marotti for a particularly poor performance.

"They spent 30 minutes or so bringing up every single bad play that happened to that one specific guy," Chambers said, "And then they told us what he was doing the night before, like not focusing, doing stuff that he shouldn't be doing."

Shaw said that the coaching staff had the particular player standing up in front of the team during the meeting and that the player was an "NFL player."

"I've never seen a grown man just bawl like that in front of a team, while coaches are just showing every single negative play that he had that game," Chambers said.

Starting with a 16-0 lead, the Buckeyes failed to contain Clemson dual-threat quarterback Trevor Lawrence. Lawrence rushed for 107 yards and a touchdown while throwing for 259 yards and two more scores.

Needing a touchdown and an extra point to win the game, Ohio State turned the ball over in the end zone when quarterback Justin Fields was intercepted by Nolan Turner with less than a minute remaining.
