Deion Sanders adds elite high school coach to CU staff, per report

6 days ago 2

The Colorado Buffaloes have experienced a whirlwind offseason, losing significant talent to the transfer portal when the season ended. Yet they have been just as active in replenishing their roster, pulling in standout players from schools across the country. Brennan Marion, formerly the head coach at Sacramento State and offensive coordinator at UNLV, has stepped in as the Buffs' new offensive play-caller, taking over for Pat Shurmur.

Adding to the momentum, it was reported on Tuesday that Josh Niblett, one of Georgia's top high school coaches, will be joining Deion Sanders' staff. Niblett, who won 45 games in four seasons at Gainesville High School and reached two Class 5A State Championships, brings nearly 300 career wins from his time coaching in both Alabama and Georgia. He is widely regarded as one of the nation's elite high school coaches.

Niblett is expected to bolster the offensive staff under Coach Prime, likely filling the tight ends coach role left vacant when Brett Bartolone departed to lead the offense for Jeff Choate's Nevada Wolf Pack. This is a significant addition for Sanders and the Buffaloes, reflecting his commitment to reshaping the staff with fresh talent, new ideas, and perhaps most importantly, true football coaches.

Excitement is finally returning to Colorado's offense, a spark that has been missing since Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter moved on to the NFL.
