Davante Adams won’t play vs. Cardinals despite pushing to suit up

Davante Adams has missed the last two games with a hamstring injury that he suffered in Week 15 and he’ll make it three in a row on Sunday. According to Jay Glazer of FOX Sports, Adams won’t play against the Arizona Cardinals today in the Los Angeles Rams’ season finale.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Network confirmed Adams’ status, as well. Glazer reported that Adams was pushing to play but Sean McVay is going to hold him out another week as a precaution.

Adams has looked good in pregame warmups the last two weeks but still isn’t 100% healthy, it seems. It’s understandable that the Rams would want to play it safe with Adams before the playoffs, too.

Adams still leads the NFL with 14 touchdown receptions, putting together a great debut season with the Rams.

McVay said last week that the expectation is that Adams will be ready for the start of the postseason, which will be next week in the wild-card round.
