Saturday night, she reminded everyone that the balance beam still belongs to her.

Chiles opened the NCAA season with a dominant, tone-setting performance, sweeping all four event titles and the all-around as UCLA surged late to win the Best of the West Quad at Alaska Airlines Arena. The Bruins closed the meet with a massive 49.525 on beam to finish first with a 196.975.

Only weeks removed from finishing third on Dancing with the Stars alongside partner Ezra Sosa, Chiles returned to collegiate competition looking fully in rhythm. The confidence translated instantly.

She won vault with a 9.900, tied for first on uneven bars at 9.925, captured floor exercise with a 9.925, and saved her best for last. On beam, Chiles delivered one of her cleanest NCAA routines, earning a 10.0 from one judge and a 9.975 final score that sealed the meet.

UCLA’s climb built steadily. The Bruins opened on floor with a 49.075, highlighted by Chiles and freshman Tiana Sumanasekera’s 9.850 collegiate debut. Vault tightened the race, with all six Bruins scoring 9.800 or higher. Bars became the turning point, as a 49.225 pushed UCLA into first place.

Already the owner of three NCAA championships and a 2024 Olympic gold medal with Team USA in Paris, Chiles began another season by sweeping the meet and setting the standard.

Next up, UCLA faces No. 1 Oklahoma, No. 2 LSU, and No. 5 Utah on Jan. 10 in a nationally televised quad on ABC.

Jordan Chiles didn’t just return. She took control.
