We have had a feeling for months that the Dallas Cowboys and Trevon Diggs were heading for an offseason separation, and now we've got it before Week 18.
With the Cowboys releasing the faded All-Pro, and him being swiftly picked up by the Green Bay Packers (because of course, right?), Dallas has moved on from what has become an increasingly problematic situation.

Diggs' play wasn't up to the necessary standard, and his off-field antics were problematic, too, with Trevon wanting to ditch the team plane ride home to instead remain in Washington after Week 17 to spend some Christmas there with friends and family.
Dallas said no. Diggs did it, anyway.
And here we are with No. 7 no longer a Cowboy.
But what really led to Dallas' decision to move on from Trevon?
And how about two conspiracy theories that are worth considering?
Head coach Brian Schottenheimer pulled back the curtain from his perspective on Wednesday.
“It was really a culmination of multiple factors, performance and other elements," Schottenheimer said. "He’s been an incredible player for this organization. I truly do like Trevon a lot. I wish him nothing but the best. I’m excited to see where he lands and watch him continue his career.”

It now gives the Cowboys a clean slate and to those who support the move, shows the importance of culture under Schottenheimer.
The coach wasn't willing to budge on Trevon's request, which reportedly happened after the game - in a way that does not fit protocol.

Schottenheimer revealed several other players asked to do the same thing during the week. Their requests were also denied.
And when you go against your boss's wishes, it never ends well. Maybe this was the final push Dallas needed to cut the cord.
Or, how about the two conspiracy theories from our own Mike Fisher?
Conspiracy Theory No. 1 from Fish: "Maybe Diggs did this on purpose, creating a loud conflict while defying his boss' order - while also "coincidentally'' hiring agent David Mulugheta (who just happens to also rep Tre's pal Micah Parsons) - with the intention of getting cut so he could join Micah in Green Bay?''

Conspiracy Theory No. 2 from Fish: "(Via my pal Ross): What if Trevon represents Schotty's modern version of Jimmy Johnson's "The Asthma-Field Kicker''? The "culture''-craving coach makes a big show of firing a player ... WOW! (who was going to get cut in a few weeks, anyway)?''
