After receiving their first Power 4 transfer in former Notre Dame cornerback Cree Thomas, the Colorado Buffaloes earned their third one in the last 12 hours.
With quarterback Ryan Staub entering the portal, the Buffaloes were left without a backup for former five-star Julian "JuJu" Lewis. However, the Buffaloes found a formidable one in Utah transfer quarterback Isaac Wilson as their 20th transfer. The former Ute is the brother of Miami Dolphins quarterback Zach Wilson, who was the No. 2 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.

In 2024, Wilson, a former blue-chip prospect, started in seven games as a true freshman and threw for 1,510 yards and 10 touchdowns to 11 interceptions. This season, however, Wilson appeared in only one game and attempted one pass in Utah's blowout of Colorado. He will have two years of eligibility remaining.
Before Utah, the 6-foot signal caller was ranked as a four-star prospect and the No. 2 player out of Utah according to 247Sports. After his freshman season, he entered the transfer portal, withdrew, returned to the Utes, and re-entered a year later.
Wilson is the Buffaloes' seventh transfer on the offensive side of the ball and their first quarterback. Wilson will serve as a solid insurance option to Lewis if the former five-star struggles in his redshirt freshman season.
