Texas A&M football received some outstanding news for the Aggie secondary entering the 2026 season, as a three-year safety announced his withdrawal from the transfer portal and return to Bryan-College Station, Texas.
According to On3 Sports Texas A&M recruiting expert Jaxson Callaway, Bryce Anderson has exited the transfer portal and will return for his last season for the Aggies. Anderson boasts tremendous experience, racking up 116 total tackles (70 of which were solo), eight pass deflections, two interceptions, two forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries through 40 games played.

His playing time was limited to just five appearances in 2025 due to an injury suffered in the Aggies' 41-40 road victory against Notre Dame.
The 5-foot-10, 186-pounder from Beaumont West Brook High School was rated a four-star recruit by 247Sports. Anderson was the No. 7 safety, No. 11 prospect in Texas, and No. 65 overall player nationally. Before he moved full-time to the secondary, he was a highly-touted dual-threat quarterback who tallied over 1,600 total yards and 14 touchdowns as a senior.
He was a 2022 Under Armour All-American and Polynesian Bowl selection. His versatility and ability to transition to the safety position made him an intriguing weapon for the Aggies, especially when head coach Mike Elko took over in 2023.

Questions continually arose about Anderson's ability to play quarterback and whether Elko and company would take advantage of his experience, but his electric speed and ball-tracking ability made him a perfect fit for the gritty defensive style of play Elko teaches.
Anderson's return to College Station marks a tremendous gain at the safety position for Texas A&M in 2026. When he is on the gridiron, the Aggie secondary has the potential to thrive.
