Clemson is set to lose another player to the transfer portal, this time from its cornerback room.

Redshirt junior Michael Mankaka plans to enter the portal when it opens on Friday. Mankaka has spent the past several seasons with the Tigers after joining the program as a walk-on ahead of the 2022 season.

He originally arrived at Clemson as a wide receiver before making the switch to defensive back prior to the 2024 campaign. Mankaka remained part of Clemson’s 105-man roster this past season following the position change.

During his time with the Tigers, Mankaka appeared in 10 games and was credited with one tackle. While his on-field role was limited, he worked through multiple position changes during his Clemson career.

Mankaka becomes the eighth Clemson player to announce plans to enter the transfer portal as the offseason continues to bring roster movement for the Tigers.
