The Cleveland Browns are keeping around a local fan favorite.

Luka Floriea, the product of Mentor High School and Kent State, isn't going anywhere.
Floriea has signed a reserve/futures contract with the Browns, according to the league's official transaction wire. That means he'll stick around with the Browns into the offseason.
It was a stop-start rookie season for the undrafted free agent. He stood out in training camp and in the preseason, but an injury in August halted any chance he had of making the full-time roster.
Floriea eventually got back onto the practice squad, but he didn't receive any gameday action.
He should head into the offseason at full health and have a chance to make a good impression all over again. He will have to do it with a new coaching staff in place, though.

But given how well Floriea performed in training camp in 2025, it wouldn't be a shock to see him do it again in 2026.
His skill out of the slot, with consistent hands and precise routes, makes him a potentially useful player down the road.
It's a good sign that the Browns are keeping him around. GM Andrew Berry, who kept his job, recognized that Floriea may have a future in Cleveland, and he's going to give him at least a little chance to prove that.
