Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix had a viral reaction to meeting Amazon Prime's Thursday Night Football host Kirk Herbstreit's dog, Peter, in Denver against Las Vegas on Nov. 6. Nix backed away from Peter when he first met him, and it turns out, there was a reason for Nix's reaction.
Against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 17, Nix was approached by Herbstreit and Peter, and they tried to have a better reunion. Before going to Nix, Herbstreit talked to backup quarterback Jarrett Stidham, who explained Nix was scared of dogs. Herbstreit also talked to wide receiver Courtland Sutton, who confirmed that Nix asks him to put away his cocker spaniel whenever he comes over.

"I was little and got attacked by (a dog), and I didn't know any better," Nix said when asked about it. "My family didn't grow up with them."
Herbstreit apologized to Nix for Peter literally jumping on Nix in the November meeting, and Nix explained his reaction. "It's not my thing," Nix said to Herbstreit.
"My wife will be shocked," Nix said after he pet Peter.
Other Broncos teammates made up for Nix's apparent lack of enthusiasm by giving Peter all the loves before going out and sweeping the Chiefs for the first time since 2015.
In addition to appearing on College Gameday, Herbstreit and Peter have one more NFL game remaining on Prime's schedule, a playoff game in the wild card round.
