Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow spent some time this week seemingly sending a message to the front office.
As for Cleveland Browns star edge rusher Myles Garrett, Burrow essentially sent a message to him while chatting with reporters, too.

The Bengals are exposing Burrow to Garrett’s hunt for history, but Burrow isn’t worried and he’s not going to go out of his way to make sure that doesn't happen, either.
"I'm certainly not going to overcompensate either way. I'm not going to go out of my way to not let him get the record, and I'm not going to go out of my way to let him get the record either," Burrow said, according to Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com.

Last weekend, Garrett actually alleged that the Pittsburgh Steelers overcompensated to prevent him from getting the NFL single-season sack record, to the point it threw the outcome of the game.

But the topic of sacks or even interceptions down the field that are essentially risky punts has always been a funny topic of conversation around Burrow.
Case in point, Burrow added this: "There are going to be situations that a sack is the best of the bad outcomes of that play, and maybe I take one and there's going to be other situations that I'm about to get sacked and I need to throw it away in that situation.”
Bengals fans don’t want to see Burrow take sacks in a meaningless game, as far as playoffs go. And helping an AFC North rival set an NFL record probably isn’t preferable, either.
But Burrow is going to be Burrow, and this context with Garrett isn’t going to stop him, just like the "meaningless" factor of this game won’t stop him from suiting up.
