The Bemidji State women's hockey team won its first-ever game against Merrimack on Saturday in North Andover, Massachusetts.

Autumn Cooper and Morgan Smith scored in the second period to give the Beavers a 2-0 lead. Senja Leeper, Hannah Graves and Paige Smith tallied assists.
Hailey Armstrong extended the lead to three in 45 seconds into the second period with helpers from Raeley Carney and Talya Hendrickson.
Kerttu Lehmus spoiled the shutout, scoring for the Warriors with 46 seconds left in regulation.
BSU goaltender Kaitlin Groess made 29 saves on the 30 shots she faced. Lauren Lyons made 27 saves for MC.
