Bears QB Caleb Williams can set two franchise milestones in Week 18

The Chicago Bears are gearing up for their regular-season finale against the Detroit Lions, where there's plenty on the line. Not only is the No. 2 seed still in play, but quarterback Caleb Williams is close to setting two big franchise records.

Williams is just 109 passing yards away from breaking the Bears' single-season passing record set by Erik Kramer (3,838) back in 1995. It's certainly more than doable, especially after Williams' 330-yard outing against the San Francisco 49ers.

But Williams can also accomplish something that's never been done in franchise history: Throw for 4,000 yards. While that achievement seemed unattainable a short time ago, Williams is now just 270 yards away from becoming the franchise's first 4,000-yard passer and stopping us from hearing about how the Bears have never had a 4,000-yard passer before.

While the Bears have already locked down a playoff spot -- and a guaranteed home playoff game -- head coach Ben Johnson said they're aiming to win the game and won't rest starters. Chicago has an opportunity to lock up the No. 2 seed with a win or a Philadelphia Eagles loss, and Williams can make some history in the process.

Williams has made impressive strides under first-year head coach Ben Johnson in just a short time, where it's clear the best is yet to come. We'll see if he can make more history on Sunday.
