Barcelona have already begun laying the foundations for what they hope will be a decisive summer transfer window.

In fact, according to a recent report from Fichajes, the club has clearly mapped out three key areas they want to strengthen as a matter of priority.

The sporting direction believes the next phase of the project must be built around targeted, high-impact signings rather than short-term fixes.

As a result, the plan is to bring in three world-class players who can raise the overall level of the squad – one to solidify the defence, one to inject creativity and unpredictability out wide, and one to guarantee goals in the long term.

There are targets

Following a detailed assessment by the technical staff, Barcelona have concluded that a left-footed centre-back is urgently needed.

The dream target in this position is Josko Gvardiol, whose profile perfectly fits what Barça are looking for. However, his situation at Manchester City makes any move extremely difficult.

Because of that complexity, Barcelona are also studying alternative elite options like Alessandro Bastoni and Nico Schlotterbeck.

The latter is seen as a more physical and commanding presence who could immediately strengthen the defensive structure.

And the attack?

On the wings, Barcelona want a player capable of consistently beating defenders in one-on-one situations, something the squad has lacked at key moments.

The club are very keen on securing Marcus Rashford permanently after his loan spell, with an option to buy set at around €30 million.

The most ambitious move, however, is reserved for the number nine position. With Robert Lewandowski approaching the final stage of his Barcelona career, the club are determined to find a long-term successor.

All eyes are on Julian Alvarez of Atletico de Madrid, who is viewed as the ideal forward to lead the line for the next decade.
