Auburn football wide receiver Sam Turner announced he is returning to Auburn for the 2026 season, per his social media.
The freshman wide receiver announced that he is returning to the Plains in 2026 on his X account on Jan. 4. Turner was rated a three-star prospect coming out of Southwest DeKalb in Decatur, Georgia. 247Sports had him ranked No. 67 out of the state of Georgia and No. 75 at his position.

Last season, Turner didn't see any playing time behind a stacked wide receiver room that has now lost many pieces to the transfer portal. Turner has an opportunity to make a mark next season, willing a good camp in the summer, to thrive in head coach Alex Golesh's offense. Since the transfer portal window opened, Auburn has added USF transfers Christian Neptune and Kory Pettigrew, and Bryce Cain announced his return to the roster.
This portal cycle, the Tigers lost five wide receivers to the transfer portal. Auburn gets a break with Turner returning, but will continue to look to fill in spots through the portal at that position.
