Q: What will Miami do with Norman Powell’s contract next year? He has become the team’s best player with all due respect to Tyler Herro, and Powell has been highly consistent, as well. – Ed.
A: Agree about Norman Powell and his consistency, and availability. But the Heat also don’t have to do anything immediately, with that extension window open though the season, otherwise with Bird Rights to re-sign Norman in free agency in the offseason. What the Heat can’t do at the moment is get caught up in the moment, even with Norman’s solid performances this past week. If you are the Heat, you do not commit to anything else extensive going forward (including a Tyler Herro extension) unless you are certainly you are more, far more, than a play-in team. At the moment, we’re talking about a team that is 20-16 and in seventh place – play-in place – in the East.

A: I’m not sure I can. To be that close, to go through pregame warmups, and then to watch the game in uniform, listed as “Did Not Play – Coach’s Decision,” it certainly is odd. If you didn’t know better, you would think management was tiring of Tyler’s game-day fashion choices when out of uniform. Erik Spoelstra said Tyler would travel, which he did not on the last trip to Atlanta, so perhaps back on Tuesday night in Minnesota.

A: Actually, the Panthers need to step in and give him one of Sergei Bobrovsky’s masks. Or perhaps since Pelle is from Sweden, get one that Henrik Lundqvist doesn’t need anymore.
