Arizona Cardinals tight end Trey McBride has received another honor for this season. He has already been selected to the Pro Bowl and has set a franchise record and league record for his position. On Wednesday, local writers awarded him with the Lloyd Herberg MVP award by the Arizona chapter of the Pro Football Writers of America.
He was named the team's MVP for his on-field performance. Through 16 games, he is tied for the NFL lead in receptions with 119, which is an NFL single-season record for tight ends and is the Cardinals' single-season record for receptions by anyone. He has 1,174 receiving yards and a career-high 11 touchdown catches.

He has been one of the only bright spots of an abysmal season thus far. He was the clear choice for this award.
