Arizona Cardinals make roster moves on Tuesday, adding TE to roster

Another Arizona Cardinals player has landed on injured reserve. The team announced on Tuesday that cornerback Kei'Trel Clark, who missed Sunday's game against the Cincinnati Bengals with a back injury, was placed on IR.

Clark's season ends having played in 14 games, starting once, and logging 25 total tackles, two pass breakups and a forced fumble. Ten of his tackles have been on special teams.

He played 201 defensive snaps and 168 on special teams in his third NFL season.

With him on injured reserve, the Cardinals now have six cornerbacks on the roster.

Cardinals add tight end

Replacing Clark on the roster is tight end Rivaldo Fairweather. The Cardinals signed him to their active roster from the practice squad of the Dallas Cowboys.

He is a 6-3, 249-pound undrafted rookie tight end. He signed with the Cowboys after going undrafted out of Auburn and spent the entire season on their practice squad. He played two seasons at Auburn (2023-24), appearing in 25 games (22 starts) and had 69 receptions for 766 yards and eight touchdowns. The 23-year old Fairweather began his collegiate career at Florida International and had 54 receptions for 838 yards and five touchdowns in 26 games (11 starts) over three seasons (2020-22).

His addition to the active roster is curious because the Cardinals now have five tight ends on the 53-man roster — Trey McBride, Elijah Higgins, Josiah Deguara, Pharaoh Brown and Fairweather.

Because the Cardinals are at the 90-man limit to carry between the active roster, practice squad and reserve lists, they had to cut one player. They cut tight end Messiah Swinson from the practice squad.
