A second former Alabama Crimson Tide football player is set to join the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets via the NCAA transfer portal, per On3's Pete Nakos.

That player is offensive lineman Joseph Ionata, who previously entered the portal a few days ago, and will now join wide receiver Jaylen Mbakwe at Georgia Tech next season.

A redshirt freshman, Ionata had spent the last two seasons with the Crimson Tide as a backup to Parker Brailsford. As the Crimson Tide's backup center, Ionata appeared in 16 total games during the 2024-25 seasons, with a large majority of his time this past season coming on special teams.

Ionata was also a member of the Crimson Tide's 2024 recruiting class, rated as the nation's No. 570 overall player, per the 247Sports Composite rankings, out of Calvary Christian High School in Florida.
